EMS Receives Kosher Certification for pHlexaPeel Products

Mar 1, 2016

Melbourne, FL – (March 1, 2016) EMS today announced that the Kashruth Division (OU) has granted kosher certification to EMS’ pHlexaPeel line of environmentally friendly chemicals for the food processing, preparation and growing industry. All told, fourteen pHlex products for myriad uses including safe replacements for harsh acids, caustics and sanitizers received pareve certification.

“The food processing industry is one of the largest volume users of acids and caustics” said John MacDonald, President of EMS. “And until now, some of the common processes were only possible with dangerous chemicals. We feel our pHlex products are the standard for FDA-GRAS and Kosher chemicals in the food processing and growing industries.”

“We’re excited to add kosher again to our growing list of recognitions” commented Tim Otto, Vice President of EMS. “In addition to being GRAS, EMS/pHlex formulations carry NSF certifications as well as being USDA Bio-Preferred and manufactured at a our Green Circle certified facility.”

The synthetic properties of pHlex formulas allow customers to replace several steps, each often involving a dangerous chemical. Time savings and simplification of training aside, pHlex products carry a triple-zero HMIS score and are formulated with ingredients and technology known to the U.S. EPA, proven to exceed requirements for direct release and biodegradation per OECD guidelines.
